Australian Shuttle Test

Measure anaerobic lactate capacity and repeated high-intensity shuttle changes of direction

Primary measureTotal Distance & Fatigue Index
CategoryAnaerobic Capacity
FormatWORK_REST
Pacing audioManual / Camera

Standardized testing protocol

6 repetitions of shuttle running: 30 seconds maximal effort followed by 35 seconds recovery. Athlete runs back and forth always returning to starting line, covering maximum distance in each 30s effort.

Required field equipment

Cones placed every 5 meters (0m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 20m...), stopwatch, measuring wheel

Calculation formula & scoring

Time4Test automates this equation directly during the session:

Total Distance (sum of 6 runs), Max Distance, Fatigue Index = (Shortest / Longest) × 100.
